Hummingbird64 Modular

The Hummingbird64 Modular provides a multi-module host platform for up to eight 8-channel modules in a 4U Form Factor. The Base unit can support any of HGL’s Dragonfly8-MOD-xxxx modules in any order allowing for aan almost any test setup to be implemented sinply and quickly.

The unit is designed to be robust to handle most environmental conditions and uses a DIN41612 connector to allow a versatile range of 8-channel acquisition modules to be attached securely. Blanking panels are provided for unused slots.

As with all Hummingbird units, it includes HGL’s standard interface connections presented on the Hardware Overview page. This means that all Hummingbirds64 units can connect with and operate with any other HGL Modular Front-Ends.

The Hummingbird64 Base unit can be provided with Rack Mount ears or with a screw on handle for more portable uses.

The Hummingbird64 and Dragonfly8 modules are supported fully by HGL’s Data Acquisition Software as well as our Labview, Windows DLL and Network API models.

Multiple Synchronizing Types

Natively supports IRIG A/B, IEEE-1588 (PTPv2) and HGL LVDS for precise synchronisation to < 50nS resolution across entire systems. GPS is optionally available.

Simultaneous Sampling

Supports individual Sigma-Delta ADCs per channel synchronized to better than 10ns across all channels in the unit.

Flexible Sample Rates

Supports sample rates from 1kHz to 256kHz (in 1Hz steps) to be chosen for each 8-channel Dragonfly8-MOD module. Due to careful design the majority of these sample rates are precise.

140dB Dynamic Range

Utilises instrumentation grade Sigma-Delta 24-bit ADCs for all input signals.

Flexible Power

Supports DC power from 9 to 36V (automotive ranges) and PoE to 802.3bt (100W) standard.
AC power supplies are supported through a range of external adaptors

Environmentally Sealed

Designed to be used in medium difficulty Environmental conditions including IP55, some fule and lubricants, and moderate vibration.

Robust

Intended for use in medium vibration environments in test cells close to test vehicles and even on test vehicles.

Conduction Cooled

Conduction cooled through innovative internal design and materials.
All models are able to operate accurately from -55 to +80C.

Flexible and Scalable

Fully interoperable with other DAQ modules.
Connection of multiple units is simple and quick and allows complex systems up to and above 1000 channels to be realised easily

Hummingbird Modular Models

Hummingbird Modular is available in a range of base models (4 & 8 slots) and Acquisiition modules (Dragonfly8-MOD) options. The Modular concept allows 8-channel acquisition modules to be mixed and matched as required.
