Mosquito Front Ends are provided with 4 Analogue input channels plus one Digital Input / Trigger Channel.
Mosquito includes as standard an Analogue Signal Generator which can be programmed to be a simple analogue output Trigger / Alarm or a full signal generator including Sine, Square, Trangle and Chirp for use as a stimulation signal for Modal Analysis applications.
Depending on Signal Conditioning option(s) chosen, Mosquito can support Voltage & IEPE as standard.
Support for Bridge (all types), Dynamic Strain, SE & DF Charge (including High Temperature sensors), 4-20mA, RTD (PRT) and TC is on the product road map.
Mosquito natively supports IEEE-1588 (PTPv2), IRIG A/B and HGL LVDS for precise synchronisation to < 50nS resolution across entire systems. GPS is optionally available.
Mosquito supports individual Sigma-Delta ADCs per channel synchronized to better than 10ns across individual channels.
Mosquito allows sample rates from 1kHz to 256kHz (in 1Hz steps) to be chosen across the unit. Due to careful design the majority of these sample rates are precise.
Mosquito utilises instrumentation grade Sigma-Delta 24-bit ADCs across the range. These provide up to 140dB Dynamic Range and with oversampling rates to 1024x provide superb anti-alias capabilities.
Mosquito supports PoE and USB Power (USB 3.1), AC power supplies are supported through a range of external adaptors
Mosquito has been designed to be used in a wide range of environments all units have no exterior openings and are sealed to IP64/65 (min) standard against water ingress.
In addition to the environmental sealing, the Mosquito range are intended for use in relatively harsh vibration environments in test cells close to test vehicles and even on test vehicles.
All Mosquito unit are conduction cooled through innovative internal design and materials.
All models are able to operate accurately from -55 to +80C.
Every HGL DAQ module is fully interoperable with other DAQ modules and this includes Mosquito. Connection of multiple units is simple and quick and allows complex systems up to and above 1000 channels to be realised easily (with other HGL units)
Mosquito is available in a range of models and signal conditioning options.
The table below indicates the Signal Conditioning types in the first column and the types of conditioning supported by that type.
